1990 Saturday May 5th - El Grupo Hispano De Tucson first organized on Saturday May 5, 1990 as a Civic/Social Club at ‘El Rincon De Felipe’ on the patio of the Joshua Tree Bar at 2921 N. 1st Avenue and later officially founded Saturday May 22, 1990 at 119 E. 32nd Street with President Richard G. Salaz, Vice President Eleazar Garcia, Treasurer Felipe Valdez, and Secretary Vincent Zepeda. The group was open to both male and female members, with its stated purpose, “To unite and support ourselves and to solicit ideas that will benefit our community.”
