Tucson Gay Museum History

Tucson Gay Museum History

The original Tucson Gay Museum®©
effort began on June 10, 1967,
as a Gay (LGBTQ+) history collecting
and archiving project by a few
'liberated' local Tucson, Arizona neighborhood
school age boys quietly meeting together talking
in very low hushed voices in one of their parents garages
with an idea that they all knew very well
had to be kept a secret for both their own survival
and for the survival of what would be their original
one of a kind collections.

While numerous attempts over the years since 1967
have been made to destroy or to steal those now
priceless tens of thousands of LGBTQIA+ historical archives
documenting many decades of a minorities history;
All Survive Intact, Preserved, And The Effort Continues!
